Listen to Industrial Wind Turbine noise from Tipton, IN

Last month I visited the Wildcat Wind Farm in Tipton County, IN (east of Kokomo). I drove down a small county road, away from any traffic or other noise, stopped the car near a wind turbine, turned the engine off and stepped outside the car and recorded the noise being made by the wind turbine. Fulton County Wind Farm: For Better Or Worse?

This is the first post, of many to come, to help inform our county of the many facets to be considered in determining whether or not Fulton County should allow wind farms. Even the above picture does not adequately convey the overall visual impact of Wildcat Wind Farm which has 125 turbines (wind towers). Eight men own the same wealth as the 3.6 billion people who make up the poorest half of humanity, according to a new report published by Oxfam today to mark the annual meeting of political and business leaders in Davos.

Oxfam’s report, ‘An economy for the 99 percent’, shows that the gap between rich and poor is far greater than had been feared. It details how big business and the super-rich are fueling the inequality crisis by dodging taxes, driving down wages and using their power to influence politics.

Selecting the President on December 19th…What! We just did that (or did we?)

Yes, the people voted their preference on November 8th. However, there’s another step.

Actually, on November 8th the people of each state voted for a slate of electors (from that state) via the candidate of their choice, be it Democratic, Libertarian or Republican. On December 19th the electors of the successful candidate will meet to cast their electoral vote. (more)
